Recruiting sources have told me this week that only G Saniya Chong and F Erica McCall, both seniors, are due in Storrs next weekend for official visits tied to the annual “First Night” show next Friday and the first day of practice.

Chong, on UConn’s radar for a long time, is also being heavily recruited by Louisville, although Ohio State apparently also has great interest.

McCall, the sister of WNBA star DeWanna Bonner of the Phoenix Mercury, has been accepted into Stanford, which may be a strong lure for the Bakersfield, Calif., native.

Also 5-6 guard Jordin Canada of Los Angeles, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2014 according to ESPN’s HoopGurlz, has apparently grown in stature with the UConn staff, according to one source.

If so, Canada, 6-3 Brianna Turner of Pearland, Texas., G Recee [Ree-Say] Caldwell of San Antonio and 6-3 A’ja Wilson of Hopkins, S.C., continue to highlight the list of potential 2014 recruits along with Courtney Ekmark, the Phoenix guard who has already given UConn her verbal.

Also in attendance will be 2014 Sierra Calhoun of Christ the King, NY., ESPN #9. Her brother is attending UCONN.

Now JOHN this is what I call UConn Women BB reporting. The SNY stuff and the potential recruits–just great simply great.

How tall is Ms Canada? You know there a lot of Canadian’s in California and Florida. Ms Canada is probably from Uganda or Montenegro. Unlike the Center for ND a true North American Native from Canada and our beloved Shoey.

Her last name is Canada. She is not from Canada. She’s from Los Angeles. And she’s 5’6″. It’s in the article here.
