Do you know how many times a public figure was accused of something and people were surprised the accusations ended up being true? People believe what they want to believe. People believed that McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, and Clemens were legit. People put the blinders on until the truth came out and then turned their backs on the athletes. This lady is not going to publically humiliate herself for nothing. There is some truth that might go away with an out of court settlement. This might explain why Auriemma did a lousy coaching job last season and was so very clearly stressed out.

If you read the entire lawsuit, you will see that the plaintiff has had issues with her job title and compensation for years. To me this is a well-timed lawsuit (by a law school grad) that casts a wide net and hopes to catch a load of cash!

What negative comments. Have you ever tried to kiss a girl and been rejected?? Is this criminal, or worth of a law suit. If so–millions, maybe billions of women should be suing almost every man on this planet. This charge, even if true, does not constitute anything illegal, immoral, or even not normal. This is way the NBA shrugged it off–it’s a non issue. As a lawyer (bad one I bet) or ex NY Policeman (bad one I bet) she knows she could not get any legal system to accept any kind of charge against Geno.
So he doesn’t want her on his security team–he’s head coach. He has the right to have only people he gets along with on his security/National team. No crime or discrimination here.
Discrimination has been given a bad name. Be as citizens of America we have the right, sometimes the duty to discriminate with people and objects. What makes it illegal or immoral is to discriminate only on the basis of race or gender or ethnic background or sexual preferences. But it is legal to discriminate when that is not a factor–and that was not a factor in anything Geno has been accused of. She only used Auriemma’s name to get national attention–otherwise this charge wouldn’t get the time of day in any media, by any media.

Your web address is recorded by the Courant. Your real identity is readily available to anyone who may want to sue you. Wonder if the Courant could get sued for permitting these comments to post? These comments are posted on their domain. In his blog, Jim Fuller reads the comments and only posts what he considers positive comments. I think that Rich Elliott does as well. John Altavilla, has the Courant considered not posting comments until a monintor has approved the content? It would eliminate the nasty comments and subsequent threat of lawsuits made by The Sueing Man. For what it is worth, the commment in question does not appear to accuse CD of covering up anything. It says before she gets sued. People sue. Geno knows this and so do the readers of this blog.
I agree with you. I am wondering the same if they can be sued as well for the comments that are rude and bashing of Geno/Uconn. The comments that are rude and ignorant should be monitored and not be posted. I can’t believe JA and the Courant allow these kind of comments. It’s really sad. She can’t prove he’s guilty and he can’t prove he’s not, so of course we’re all going to bleat pro and con about the Geno we think we’ve known. Will this allegtion become a footnote to all stories about teams coached by Geno? If so, for how long? Will others plant their opinions in stories by using terms like ‘ethically challenged’ or ‘accused sex offender’ or even ‘controversial’?
The only issue here is job discrimination not an attempted kiss. Her real beef is with the NBA but a suit against them? No one would have paid attention so lets sue the coach. I do not know the accuser, nor do I know the accused. I also do not know anyone with USA Basketball or anyone working for the NBA. What information has been released by Hardwick and her attorney strongly suggest including Auriemma in the suit had little to nothing to do with the alledged incident in Russia in 2009. She hs clearly stated it is because she alleges that Auriemma requested and USA Basketball and/or the NBA agreed to not give her the assignment of heading security for the team in 2012. Since she did not ever serve as an employee of Auriemma including him in the suit is about publicity and not about legal responsibility. That is why I find her side of the story less than believeable.
Have you been there? How do you know she’s telling the truth? Until then, Geno is innocent until there is proof that he done as that as I don’t see him as the kind of guy who would do all those things.

All should have their day in court. I have only read this article and may have missed a major part of the overall story, but what exactly is this thing about a video- according tonever a dull moment? iS a video of the ‘event/kissing, or better attempt at kissing? Can you /anyone elaborate, please. Of course there are videos on every floor in some hotels. Is that what is meant by “this video”, NEVER A DULL MOMENT?
