The Connecticut Sun (23-9) wrapped up another winning road trip Sunday with a 60-58 victory at Seattle. They won two of three on their swing through Phoenix, Los Angeles and Seattle, losing only to the Sparks.

And now they are on the verge of clinching first place in the Eastern Conference – and the top seed in the conference playoffs.

If the Sun can defeat second-place Indiana (20-10) Wednesday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena, the East will be theirs, no matter what the Fever does tonight against the Minnesota Lynx or for the remainder of the season.

Indiana is currently 2 games behind the Sun, but has played four less games.

Connecticut’s first-round opponent would then be either the New York Liberty (14-17) or Chicago Sky (13-18).  New York has a one-game lead over the Sky, but a huge lead over them in overall conference record [the Liberty is 10-12, the Sky is 7-13] which would be the tiebreaker since the team’s split their four-game regular-season series.

The WNBA should be releasing the playoff schedule either late Sunday or early Monday.

The Sun’s first-round best-of-three will begin at the casino either Friday, Sept 28 or Saturday, Sept. 29
