Courtney Gaine Goes To The Line To Help A Friend

by Categorized: courtney gaine, UConn women's basketball Date:

I know there is nothing many of you enjoy more than getting caught up with the lives of the players you have rooted for over the  years on the UConn women.

It’s easy to keep track of those who play in the WNBA and for USA Basketball. They are always in the news. But what of those they leave the Huskies and go on to live the type of lives most people do, assimilating themselves as quietly and productively as they can into society?

Well, here’s one of those stories for you.

Courtney Gaine may have not played a lot of minutes in her UConn career. But while she was there she obviously learned other things about life and friendship that transcended the playhouse of women’s basketball, where life is nothing more than a game.

My great friend Dom Amore, the Hartford Courant’s UConn men’s basketball and baseball beatwriter, has been following the case of a former UConn baseball player’s search for a new liver.

He found one. And I bet you can guess who helped him.
