Geno And Jim (Boeheim)
If you didn’t know this before, please be informed one of Geno Auriemma’s favorite coaches in the world of college basketball is a men’s coach, and a pretty famous one – Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim.
At USA Basketball men’s practice on Sunday. Boeheim told Dianna Russini of NBC-30 that Auriemma essentially has the life; you know, wins all the time, has the unconditional love of the state in his gym bag, etc., etc….
When told to this, Geno chuckled….
,,,and said
“First of all, he is right about that…and I don’t know of anyone that has coached more NBA players than Jim has,” said Auriemma. “He has had a lot of talent, maybe with a little bit of luck he would have one more than one national championship. But…right now he is at an age…. He just complains about everybody else, you would think when you get to be that old you would enjoy the life that you had… your beautiful wife Julie and your family and the great job that you have and the Hall of Fame.
“You would think that you would enjoy it…but hes gotten older and more bitter more angry more disillusioned….Nothing like you coach? Nothing like me…somebody at his age really should be sitting in a rocking chair and waiting for his oatmeal in the morning..he is lucky. he does have the life.”
Folks, Geno was laughing and smiling here.
A reminder: USA Basketball’s game against Great Britain this afternoon at 2:30 will be on ESPN2 from Manchester, England.

GREAT READ JOHN……”KOOL”
One would think that Jim was a friend. Maybe before, but after this?????
Ever notice the number of fiends Geno has and the many, many, many different vocations–other than blog authors and Refs.

Bernie Fine
be careful Geno
And unlike the PSU issues and Sandusky’s conviction it seems to me that the Bernie Fine story has faded away. Maybe it will come back but I am sensing this was a jump on the PSU bandwagon grab for cash. I wait.
