Geno On Jen Rizzotti’s Hall Induction
.Geno Auriemma was filled with pride about Jen Rizzotti’s induction to the Women’s Hall of Fame.
Here’s what he had to say on Monday after the USA’s win over Brazil in Washington.
“One of the things I have always thought about Jen is when she was in high school, she played the game in a way that people went to high school girls basketball games and that doesn’t happen a lot. When she came to UConn she played the game in such a way that everybody wanted to watch her play. “She’s a 5-5, 5-6 girl in a ponytail who inspired an entire state to become women’s basketball fans.
“What tells you all you need to know about Jen is her senior year she averaged 11 points a game and she was the national player of the year. Even now as a coach she represents all the things that are great about women’s basketball. She has inspired more young people to play women’s basketball than anybody I’ve ever been around.”

FREDDYKOOL: CONGRATS TO ONE OF UCONN’S ALL TIME GREATS. I LOVED U JEN CAUSE U R VERY VERY “KOOL”
Jen Rizzotti brings to the floor, class and style. She inspired many young women to take their athletic skills onto a basketball court instead of a soccer pitch or a lacrosse field. She deserves this induction and her team is the #2 team to watch in this state.
Congratulation to Jen. She deserves the induction as a player. As a coach she has been sensational–I believe she is being groomed to replace Geno someday. Good going, Jen.
