Hartley Held Back From USA Basketball Camp

by Categorized: Bria Hartley, UConn women's basketball, USA Basketball Date:

As we reported last night on our Twitter site, UConn and USA Basketball have decided to keep Huskies guard Bria Hartley on campus this week to help rest a nagging ankle injury

Hartley, who played for the gold-medal winning World University Games team this summer, was to be one of four UConn undergrads to attend Geno Auriemma’s first camp in preparation of the 2014 World Championships.

Hartley was bothered all last season by an ankle injury she suffered playing in Greece for USA Basketball’s 3×3 team.

A UConn source tells me this decision is related to last year’s injury. But it is not considered serious.

Meanwhile, Hartley’s teammates, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Stef Dolson and Breanna Stewart are in Las Vegas this weekend with a number of former Olympians for orientation and workouts that will lead to the selection of the team that will play in Istanbul next September
