High school sophomore Kelly Jekot of Enola, Pa. attended Friday’s preseason game against Gannon at Gampel Pavilion on an unofficial visit. She was sitting behind the UConn bench and had pregame chats with a number of UConn administrators, including athletic director Warde Manuel.
She is already a player in high demand regionally. According to her, she has received offers from Maryland, Vanderbilt, St, Joseph’s (Pa) and Villanova.
She is a 6-foot guard with tremendous poise and confidence as displayed in her decision to attend USA Basketball’s U16 camp this summer although uninvited to tryout. She made it to the last cut.
More on Kelly soon…….
