UConn sophomore forward Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, junior Stef Dolson, Notre Dame senior guard Skylar Diggins and USF senior guard Andrea Smith highlight the 2012-13 All-Big East team.

Syracuse senior guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas wins the Big East’s Sixth Man Award. UConn senior guard Kelly Faris is the Defensive Player of the Year. Faris and DePaul sophomore guard Brittany Hrynko shared honors as the Most Improved Players.

DePaul senior guard Anna Martin was selected for the BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award.

Faris was also a second team pick along with Dayeesha Hollins, Cincinnati, R-Jr., G; Katherine Harry, DePaul, Sr., F; Martin, DePaul, Sr. G; Antonita Slaughter, Louisville, Jr., G; Katherine Plouffe, Marquette, Jr., F; New Britian’s Symone Roberts, Providence, Sr., G; Brittany Morris, Seton Hall, Sr., G; Andrell Smith, USF, Sr., G and Laura Sweeney, Villanova, Sr., F

Breanna Stewart and Bria Hartley were honorable mentions along with Jewell Loyd of Notre Dame, Brianna Kiesel of Pittsburgh and Erica Wheeler of Rutgers.

  2. Congratulations to all Uconn players for being mentioned. Tuck deserved mention on the Freshman team, but maybe she lacked sufficient number of games.
    Could ND have gotten more names in?? I think the forgot M.Kowlakowski –the Janitor.
