I don’t understand why any UConn players are on the All American teams. Geno should be on the team. Without him, they would be nothing. McBride got screwed. Simmons is a joke.

    1. KML has my vote

I agree with the post 80 percent of those selected have been eliminated. So much for their impact on the game.
Also McBride was an obvious selection are they blind??
KML and Stewart Second team at least.
Dolson–I’m ashamed of the selection committee, she has been a quiet impactful player against the best teams.

    2. Sal and Irene

As much as I don’t care for Odyssy Simms, she is an excellent point guard. Simms and Griner are the Baylor team. Please note that my wife and I are true blue Uconn Women fans but we recognize talent. We believe Kelly should be Defensive player of the year over Griner and Chiney O.

  2. DBN

80% of the 1st team All Americans, have been eliminated from the Final Four. Go UCONN !

        1. The Decipherer

You are right Sal and Irene. All it means is that they have an enormously better coach.

        2. Skylar McGraw

The goal is to WIN any competition. There are NO asterisks indicating the differential between the WINNER and LOSER of a competition. These will ALWAYS be LOSSES on UConn’s record. You cannot remove the wins from Muffet, Skylar, Kayla, and the rest of Notre Dame. The fact that UConn fans keep pointing out the losses were by 1 or 2 points indicates it REALLY PISSES THEM OFF. And Notre Dame fans are quite aware of it.

We all know you’ll be rooting for Coach P and the Dukies -so you can take another night off from coaching

So you’re the reason the UConn players are always complaining about being hurt

Dolson should have been second team at worst. We never know what the criteria is. Reminds me of the year Uconn had Bird, Cash, Jones and Williams go 1,2 4,& 5 in the WNBA draft – yet only two of them were good enough to make the first team in the Big East.

  6. Our Geno Who Art In UConn

What is up with Kelly Faris compulsory head scratching turnover and blown wide open layup in the first 5 minutes of games the 2nd half of the season?

Can’t really argue with the first team except Chiney Ogwumike who really hasn’t impress me at all this year. Hard to say what team Dolson should be on without seeing the whole 2nd team. Stewart’s season has been too inconsistent to be named, I think.

Kayla McBride should be on the first team instead of Chiney Ogwumike, but other than that you can’t argue. All year long the question has been”who would be the go to person for Uconn for a game winning shot”. That’s why Odyssey Sims is on the first team. I have been watchng her for 3 years, and I have never once seen her miss a shot she has needed to make with the game on the line. I am also a true blue husky lady husky fan but let’s face it,there are no first team All America’s this year.KML second team is just about right. Off the top of my head I can’t think of a center other than Griner who is better than Dolson though, so I’m wondering who that is.

There are now three “Big East” teams in the Final Four in New Orleans. Each of the three will be playing in different leagues next year. How sad…
