She suffered a concussion on Saturday against Purdue in the final game of the Paradise Jam tournament and has not practiced. She has been complaining of headaches since.
Bria Hartley, who just returned from the DL last week in St. Thomas, will get her first start of the season in KML’s place. Hartley has averaged 15.3 minutes off the bench in three games.
“I am starting to get into the groove now,” Hartley said after Saturday’s win over Purdue.
* Forgot to tell you this regarding the Paradise Jam, but a Marist parent I saw on Sunday morning told me that Red Foxes’ coach Brian Giorgis did not let his players go to the pool or beach until after its three games were played. They went snorkeling on their first day in St. Thomas, but could not get any sun after that. The parent said the kids were not happy, but all coaches have their own rules. Doesn’t seem right to me.
* An ACC blogger said today that UConn, Louisville and Navy are on the conference expansion list and the matter will be discussed this week. With Tulane [all sports] and East Carolina [football only] joining the Big East in 2014, the Big East seems to be grasping at any school it can to bolster its roster, almost as if it expects to lose both UConn and Louisville soon.
* A Texas high school website is reporting that guard Recee’ Caldwell will announce her college choice on Friday. Yes, of course, UConn is on the list just like it always is for just about anyone who can play
