Rebecca Lobo, Muffett McGraw Nominated For Naismith Hall

Rebecca Lobo is one of the dozen women’s basketball nominees for induction to the Class of 2013  in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell,  Muffet McGraw and Kim Mulkey are also on the list. The finalists will be announced Feb. 15.

Lobo is already in Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, which will induct her former UConn teammate, Jen Rizzotti in June.

Also nominated are Leta Andrews, Jennifer Azzi, Laurie Byrd (First-Time Nominee), Kathy Delaney-Smith, Harley Redin, Theresa Shank, Dawn Staley and Theresa Weatherspoon

    Sylvia Hatchel and Muffet McGraw–should have been in the H.O.F> a long time ago.
    Muffet earned it with her NCAA Championship . She took a clutz (Riley) and turned her into a good ball player and excellent passer (that’s what won the Championship) Geno doubled Riley and a ND player would cut to the basket to receive a pass and make the lay up.
    Of course it helped that DT missed 15 three point shots–always asked myself if Maria Conlon had a shot at 5 of those wouldn’t she have made one or two, enough to win that game?? But we’ll never know.
