Anne Donovan, currently the head coach at Seton Hall, is expected to be named the next coach of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun on Thursday, according to a tweet from the New London Day.
Donovan, the coach of the gold-medal winning 2008 USA Olympic team in China, has already coached the Indiana Fever, Seattle Storm, Charlotte Sting and New York Liberty during her long career. Donovan won a WNBA championship in Seattle and is a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Donovan joined the Liberty as an assistant coach in the spring of 2009, then took over as interim head coach on July 31, 2009.
Donovan became head coach of Seton Hall in March 2010 but completed that season as Liberty coach before beginning her job at Seton Hall.
