I thought you might like to hear what Sadie Edwards, Gabby Williams and Courtney Ekmark thought about their official visits to UConn last weekend.
Of course, the three guards have already offered their verbal commitments to the Huskies for the CIass of 2014.
If and when center A’ja Wilson of South Carolina decides to join them, I’ll do my best to let you hear from her, too.
Here is briefly what Gabby Williams had to say this morning:
“It was awesome to finally be able to spend time with my future teammates and get an even better feel for the program. I had a really good time and didn’t want to leave. I liked how the practices are run and First Night was a great time for me, too.
“The entire trip was reassuring that I made the right decision of picking UConn and I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to play for an amazing program.”
Here is what Sadie Edwards had to say, also this morning:
“My official visit was amazing. I had a great time with the coaches, players, other recruits and their families. The sense of family and togetherness of this program has been extended to all of the families immediately. It was awesome to finally meet Gabby and Courtney. We got along really well and I’m looking forward to spending the next four years of my life playing with them.
“First night was so much fun. I could feel the energy and love for UConn basketball that circled around Gampel. I got chills as the players were introduced, knowing that next year that would be me. I’ve dreamt of that experience for so long, yet my dreams couldn’t even compare. Every moment of my visit was a constant reminder of why I chose Connecticut. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. I left my visit feeling truly blessed that I have the opportunity to play for the greatest program in women’s college basketball history, with the greatest coaching staff in the game, alongside some of the greatest people.”
And here is what Courtney Ekmark had to say..
“I felt incredibly blessed to be going to the best basketball program in the country. When I was watching practice, I just wanted to be on the floor playing. The coaching staff is fun to hang around with and they have produced so many great players. The girls were all really nice. First Night was a perfect example of why the media and crowd that follows UConn women’s basketball is so special. I just can’t wait to be a part of it.”
