Sun Cut Roster To 13

The Connecticut Sun have waived Stefanie Murphy and Jessica Breland. The Sun now have 13 players on their roster following these transactions. Brittany Carter was waived by the team on May 5. The team must be down to 11 players by May 17.

Murphy was signed as an undrafted free agent to a training camp contract for the second consecutive year. She did not see any action in Connecticut’s first preseason game on Monday against New York.

Breland, who joined the Sun on July 31, 2011, saw action in just one game with Connecticut during the 2011 season. She had six points, four rebounds and two steals in the Sun’s preseason victory over New York on Monday.
