The Connecticut Sun just announced the re-signing of point guard Sydney Carter to a seven-day contract. Carter again comes as a replacement player under the emergency hardship clause after injuries sidelined Kelly Faris (left foot) and Allison Hightower (strained right knee). She will join the team on Saturday and is expected to be in uniform when the Sun play New York Sunday at 5 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The 5-foot-6 guard was first signed June 11 under the emergency hardship clause after injuries to Renee Montgomery and Tan White. She was waived on July 16 after seeing action in six games with the Sun. She averaged 4.5 points, 2.8 assists and 1.7 rebounds in those games, including seven points, eight assists and five rebounds in the win over Tulsa on July 2..
