Teams Set For WNBA Draft Lottery

The Phoenix Mercury, Tulsa Shock, Washington Mystics and Chicago Sky are the teams in contention to select Baylor’s 6-8 All-American center Brittney Griner in the 2013 WNBA Draft.

By virtue of being bad enough to not qualify for the playoffs, they will be in Thursday’s draft lottery, which will determine the order for the first four picks in the 2013 Draft.

You figure Griner will be the pick, even  if Tulsa, with 6-8 center Elizabeth Cambage of Australia on the roster, wins the pick. What good is a 6-8 center if she doesn’t show up for work? And that’s what Cambage did this season, staying home before the Olympics, then deciding to stay home after they were over, as well.

The next two picks should be Delaware’s Elena Delle Donne and Notre Dame’s Skylar Diggins.

    Griner is so much more than EDD. EDD never got the Hens to the Final 4, even with an enhanced supporting cast. I don’t know if Diggins, without Mallory, Novesel and the Canadian and the other Center would have gotten ND to the final 4.
    But BG got Baylor there twice, so far.
    Diggins will show this year what her impact is without Novesel, Mallory et al–if any. EDD will be an asset to WNBA teams, when she wants to play, but she isn’t really a difference maker–ala DT, Sue, Swin, Griner, Tina, Dolson (say what you want Dolson was the difference this year).

    The loto needs to include more teams. As it is, teams are motivated to do as bad as possible to get a better pick. Not good for the league if this trend grows.

    Can’t imagine that EDD would join any team other than Washington…it’s the only one close to Delaware. It’ll be interesting to see what she is going to choose to do post-college.

    Get yourself a notebook only for the lottery. Establish the lotto game you want to play and study my system thouroughly. (Everything is simple…but if there are parts you don’t understand just read it again and again until makes sense)
    After you WIN, be careful to keep a low profile. There are a lot of desperate people, especially with this crisis, who will do anything for your money.
