There Will Be Another Politician At The White House With UConn

State Representative Mary Fritz (D-Cheshire/Wallingford) will accompany the UConn women’s basketball team to the White House Wednesday when the Huskies are greeted by President Barack Obama at a 2 p.m. ceremony.

Rep. Fritz, said to be a longtime fan and supporter of the women’s basketball program, will be standing in for House Speaker Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden) who asked Rep. Fritz to represent him and accompany the team.

 Rep. Fritz was first elected to the General Assembly in 1982, representing the 90th Assembly District, which includes Cheshire and Wallingford.
