This is the first day that the media is allowed to speak to the UConn women’s basketball players since the start of practice. And there is already some injury news to report.
Junior Bria Hartley is wearing a walking boot on her sprained left ankle. She apparently hurt it playing this summer in Greece helping the United States win gold in the FIBA 3×3 tournament. It’s expected she will be out for the remainder of the week.
Freshman Moriah Jefferson also will not work today because of a sore groin. It’s expected she will be return Wednesday.
Also, Geno Auriemma has honored for his Italian heritage on Saturday 37th Annual National Italian Foundation dinner in Washington and thanks to the Boneyard here is the picture to prove it. The other guys are Mike Piazza and Jerry Colangelo
