The future continues to brighten for the UConn women.

USA Today has selected Breanna Stewart, Morgan Tuck and Moriah Jefferson to the 2012 All-USA girls high school basketball first team. Stewart is the Player of the Year.

UConn vs. Baylor in the finals. UConn wins.

Chris—Nice thoughts but Baylor is again reloading and has a championship squad without Griner. I think UConn’s real hopes of another Championship is not 2013 but 2014, 5,and 6.
Next year will be a warmup year where the Frosh learn about Geno, the uConn system and playing in the final 4.
Dolson as a Freshman and Soph has been terribly under valued by uConn fans and many except those who play against her. She is so much better as a Freshman and Soph than Tina Charles it is truly amazing. Just think what she will do these next two years. The kid can score, the most consistent scorer on the team and rebound well. She needs to be more aggressive but so did Tina at this point in her career. These coming years will be exciting and interesting. When Geno loses one–remember as great as he is he is not allowed to play the game for his team.

Meanwhile, UConn has Zero Committs from the 2013 incoming class, while ND has 4. Between the 3 Amigos of the 2012 incoming class, Auriemma playing only 6 in March 2011 and playing only 7 in March 2012, UConn could very well end up with a 1 player recruiting class in 2013. Legit high school All-Americans (WBCA, USA, McDonald’s) will not sign with UConn to sit on the bench in March Madness. In the last 2 years, UConn proved that they cannot win a NC with 1 POY and 5 role players or with 2 AA (Hartley, Hayes) and 4 role players. Something has to change if the Huskies want the 8th NC.

Jesus, your right, they have Zero commits for class of 2013. I think the longer a no decision goes as far as Diamond deshields, the less change Uconn has of getting her. If she is really serious about playing for the best program, best coach and best challenging situation she would have already committed. I have been reading that she may be leaning towards Maryland.

Kids have until this time next year to commit…there is no need to rush. It’s us, the fans, who are impatient.
