WFAN’s Mike Francesa Interviews Tina Charles: No, Seriously, Not Kidding

by Categorized: Connecticut Sun, Mike Francesa, Tina Charles, WFAN, WNBA Date:

There are some things in life you can honestly admit you would have never expected to happen, One of them came to pass yesterday.

WFAN’s afternoon drive icon, Mike Francesa, who talks women’s basketball almost as often as the Cubs win the World Series, interviewed Connecticut Sun all-star Tina Charles, the WNBA’s reigning MVP, during his show on Tuesday.

Here is the proof.

The Mohegan Sun, which hosts the WNBA All-Star game, is a huge marketing partner of WFAN. Francesa often does he show from casino’s ‘Wolf Den’ and frequently mentions its boss, Mitchell Etess, on his broadcasts.

Also, the interview was done to help promote the station’s ticket give-away for the game, which will be played Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

One other thing: Charles, the former UConn All-American, was born in raised in Queens, N.Y., went to high school at Christ the King in Jamaica, N.Y. and is proudly a New York Mets fan. WFAN is the Mets flagship station.
