Last week, I told you that SNY was very interested in hiring some faces and voices familiar to UConn women’s basketball fans to help it bring the Huskies into your living room – and I-Pads, computer screens and I=Phones

Well, now I can tell you that Kara Wolters, the former UConn All-American center and long-time radio analyst on the UConn radio network, will be joining SNY as a studio host for its 20-plus UConn telecasts.

An SNY spokesman would not comment on Wolters status, but said the network is planning an announcement about its full broadcast and telecast team very soon.

It’s expected that Kara will be a part of SNY’s New York studio team who will bring you pregame and postgame coverage. She will also very likely be a big part of any season previews SNY does – and any other studio shows it produces.

What this means is, Kara will likely no longer be a part of WTIC’s flagship radio broadcasts along with my friend, Bon “Voice Of” Joyce.

Most likely, WTIC and UConn will be looking for a new partner for Bob beginning right away.

Also, you can expect at least one or two other familiar faces to be a part of its television team. More on that soon.

Thanks for this update on SNY, John. I thought Kara was great on the radio with Bob; she’ll be missed there. But I look forward to seeing & hearing her in the SNY studio!

Kara, I hope this is a financially rewarding job with SNY. But what a pair you and Bob Joyce made broadcasting the UConn Women’s games for TIC. Your interaction with Bob and the analyst alone was worth the “tuning to TIC”. You will be missed, have no doubt. Your on Screen persona will be a highlight of SNY Women’s games. They’d better treat you right–if they didn’t know it they do now–you are UConn!! Heard that Megan Cumuo Pattyson was going to be doing the color for the games–Please Megan, lose the horse laughs and the Pennsylvania only words. Worried–remember it is worried with and O not Warried with an A.
Also LAST YEAR is two words, not las shear.

Go to sny.tv or Sportsnet New York (google) to see what schedules SNY will have for the Men and Women BB. They are being tight lipped on what’s happening with OUR women.
